House Votes to Cut $60 Billion

The article I chose was an article about the House voting to cut $60 Billion from the federal budget.  The House has a Republican majority, so there was no problem voting to approve the cut.  However, the Senate is mostly Democrats, which disapprove of the cut.  This disagreement could potentially create a standoff between the House and Senate.  The cut will affect almost every area of government.  People, who oppose the cut, claim the cut will hurt the economy by just creating a higher unemployment rate.  Supporters claim the cut is needed to begin the process of shrinking the national debt.  This article is worth reading because it affects anyone involved in the national government.  Employers, citizens, and anyone who benefits from government spending have something to lose or to gain from the cut.  Beyond the fiscal issue, is the matter of the disagreement between House and Senate, that could potentially cause a standoff between the two.  Click Here to view article.
